Key Findings:
Sustainability is a priority for Romanians in interior design. 74% of respondents consider durability to be the most important factor when choosing interior design elements, followed by aesthetics (61%) and ease of maintenance (55%).
Natural materials are preferred for their positive impact on well-being. 80% of respondents prefer sustainable design over trendy design, and 50% believe that natural materials contribute to improved mood and air quality.
Biophilic and minimalist designs are popular trends. Biophilic design (43%) and minimalist design (37%) are the top two design trends preferred by respondents, followed by Scandinavian style (33%).
Inen is recognized for its natural and eco-friendly qualities. 90% of respondents know that linen is a completely natural material, 80% recognize it as eco-friendly and non-toxic, and half know that it is beneficial for sleep.
Cotton remains the preferred bedding material, despite perceived benefits of linen. 84% of respondents prefer cotton bedding, while only 49% choose linen. This may be due to perceptions that natural materials are more difficult to maintain and more expensive, and that cotton is more durable than linen.
