Summary:
The benefits of entrepreneurship need to be communicated more clearly by academia, which should focus on building an entrepreneurial mindset among students - this is one of the recommendations made in a study by researchers at Babeș-Bolyai University and published in the scientific journal Eastern European Economics of the Taylor & Francis publishing house, a study that looks at the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on entrepreneurial initiative in Romania.
The study by researchers from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FSEGA) at UBB transmits a series of recommendations for both academia and government to support entrepreneurship in the post-Covid period. The research objective, according to a presentation transmitted on Wednesday by UBB, is "to offer a detailed and multi-dimensional analysis of the main determinants of entrepreneurial intention in a global context disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, starting from the fact that there are no standardized models for identifying the factors that influence individuals' decision to choose an entrepreneurial career".
Key Points:
According to the study, academia should make efforts to identify individuals with entrepreneurial skills and support them in developing new businesses. And "from a managerial perspective, this aspect translates into the design and implementation of staff training programs, designed to prepare teachers and signal to them the importance of incorporating these aspects into their educational discourses and practices".
As far as governments are concerned, the analysis cited says that they need to formulate solid and effective measures in two directions - to support existing businesses, especially small and medium-sized ones, and to ensure their survival in critical times, such as the recent Covid-19 crisis, through legislative and fiscal support
